Stunning holiday accommodation in Kent, so much to do, explore and see here on the coast

Our Beach Escapers are absolutely spoilt for choice as there is something for everyone in this part of Kent, with plenty of activities right on the Beach Escapes doorstep in Hythe and some famous attractions only a short drive away in Folkestone, Dover and Deal.

Whether you are a lover of the outdoors (gin on the terrace anyone…?) or keen on music and art, or passionate about history and heritage, there is something to pique your interest.

Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway

Just a 15-minute walk from The Beach Escapes, Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway has events throughout the year such as the May Steam and Diesel Gala being held on the weekend of 13th & 14th May – check their calendar of special events here. Even if you don’t make one of their regular events. why not take a trip up the coast on one of these wonderful engines and hop on and off to explore Dymchurch (chips on the seafront and the penny-arcades) and the incredible scenery of Dungeness, ending with a trip up the famous lighthouse?

Folkestone

With Folkestone just a 30-minute walk or short drive from the Beach Escapes holiday accommodation in Kent, take a look at all this bustling and booming town has to offer! It has recently been named as one of the best places to live in the UK – so how lucky we are to be right on the doorstep!

Harbour Arm

The renowned Harbour Arm, which has been brought to life by renovations in recent years, is a great place to while away an afternoon or evening, with plenty of live music on offer, such as The Altones on 30th April. There is a fantastic selection of food and beverage outlets catering for all tastes, and both films and sports events shown regularly on the Harbour Screen. Click here to take a look at the packed event programme!

Live music and entertainment

In Folkestone, there are also two live music and entertainment venues – The Quarterhouse and The Leas Cliff Hall so you could combine a stay with us with taking in a show or gig? Both venues have some renowned tribute acts as well as talks from everyone to explorers to cricketers – and at a fraction of the price of a London night out.

Historic castles and stunning strolls

If it’s history and walking that you’re after, then there are plenty of castles and stunning strolls, saunters and vigorous rambles less than 30 minutes away; there are castles in the nearby towns of Dover, Deal and Walmer, and the famous White Cliffs of Dover offer spectacular views across the Channel.  If you have English Heritage membership, all the better and they often film at Dover Castle, so you never know who you might bump into!
